We have evidence

12 Now if Christ is preached that He has been raised from the dead, how do some among you say that there is no resurrection of the dead? 13 But if there is no resurrection of the dead, then Christ is not risen. 14 And if Christ is not risen, then our preaching is empty and your faith is also empty. 1 Corinthians 15:12–14

I am sure all over us enjoy the long Easter weekend- the family gatherings, food, games, movies and all, but rarely do we delve deeply into the reason for the season.

While attending the Easter Sunday service this year, it dawned on me that God could have chosen to die, get buried and go to heaven without showing evidence of his resurrection. Or he could have chosen to show the disciples that he was in heaven- kind of ‘by the way while you were not looking, I went to heaven’. He intentionally rose from the dead and showed himself to the disciples in the flesh and even allowed them to touch the scars on his hands.

While pondering these things, I realized how intentional God is! He knew how important the evidence of resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is to our faith so he implemented it in 3D. He wanted to leave no doubt that there is resurrection- And as we are one with Christ, it means that God’s resurrection power dwells on the inside of us. That is very powerful.

When we were young, my dad told us that the current president of Uganda belonged to the same clan as ours- the bagahe! I would be lying to you if I told you that we did not brag about that at school and everywhere else, to whoever cared to listen. At once, we felt like we could sit at the table and contribute to the country’s most important matters. It gave us some wings. Of course, at some point we stopped bragging about it because we had no evidence and it was highly questionable.

But it is different with the King of kings and Lord of Lords. Do you know that having the resurrection power on the inside of you is the truth? Do you know that God has allowed us to sit at the table with him and make decisions? Do you know that you have been so equipped to empty hell and populate heaven?

The same power that raised Jesus from the dead lives on the inside of you. From today, as a believer in Jesus Christ, begin fearing yourself- you can even create another universe because you have evidence.
